A comprehensive step-by-step instruction guide to setting up in the UAE, from applying for your residence visa and resident ID to renting a home and opening a bank account.
Both Etisalat and du have a well-developed, technologically advanced telecommunications infrastructure – and they are the sole providers of internet in the UAE. Etisalat is the main Internet Service Provider (ISP), but du primarily serves the newly developed areas and free zones in the emirate. Currently, you don’t get to choose a service provider, rather you must go with whoever your home is pre-wired to; there are plans to broaden the network to each ISP though.
Etisalat services range from a basic Al Shamil broadband connection to an eLife bundle that includes internet, TV and landline. du services range from the Talk & Surf internet and landline packages to Talk, Surf and Watch packages, which also include digital TV. Visit any Etisalat or du store to sign up and arrange for a home installation. The whole process takes at least one week.
For Etisalat, register at e4me.ae to check and pay your bills, or selfcare.du.ae for du.
