A comprehensive step-by-step instruction guide to setting up in the UAE, from applying for your residence visa and resident ID to renting a home and opening a bank account.
There are two home phone providers for the UAE: Etisalat and du. The majority of homes have an Etisalat landline, but several new developments and those owned by Emaar have du landlines. You can subscribe to du’s call packages and internet services if you have an Etisalat landline (and vice versa), but you still have to pay the du (or Etisalat) line rental charge.
Etisalat offers two landlines per property; installation of the second landline is free, you just pay the extra rental charges.
du offers an unlimited number of landlines and extensions; each additional landline comes with a new subscription, a new phone number and a new handset. Additional extensions are added to your existing landline subscription. Both Etisalat’s Home Landline packages and du’s Homephone packages include free local calls.
